January Wrap-up

January flew by like a speeding bullet, but we still managed to post a handful of episodes – check them out below:

We talk about upcoming movies in 2021

It’s hard to know what to expect for 2021’s release schedule. Whether it’s the fact that cinemas may not be open for a while or the dilemma of whether studios should push back release dates or bite the bullet and go direct to streaming. Despite this we still hold some optimism and had fun talking about the upcoming releases we are most looking forward to.

Includes lightweight discussion of the following; A Quiet Place 2, Godzilla Vs Kong, Candyman, No Time To Die, Halloween Kills, The Little Things, Spiderman 3, The Matrix 4 and The French Dispatch.

Scream 3 – Crap Movie Club #31

We’re starting to enjoy slasher movies and have reviewed a handful, so it’s only natural that sooner or later we would find ourselves watching something from the Scream franchise. Scream 3 seems almost self-aware – but not to the degree where it gets a pass on all the standard tropes and pitfalls of the genre. This entry ends in an extremely conclusive manner and yet somehow there is another one after it and even another scheduled for 2022.

Money Plane – Crap Movie Club #32

The highlight for the month for us was talking about Money Plane. A daring heist on a “bullet proof casino in the sky” which comes out more as a low-budget first draft where the key details of the plot haven’t been thought through. The plane allegedly flies over international airspace, so why then do the characters redistribute the wealth by throwing it out of the plane doors and even escape by jumping off the plane? With that said, Kelsey Grammer more than makes up for the weak plot.

December Schedule

December 2020 marks the 1 year anniversary for our show and we’re really grateful to anyone who has listened, sent us feedback or commented on anything we’ve done.

To celebrate, we have a month of fun planned, kicking off with a Fecal Sequels extravaganza. This will see Jordan playing host and movie-exec, as the extended CMC cast pitch their ideas for a sequel to Jordan’s movie of choice.

As we get into December, Lauren is back with us to revisit the Kissing Booth universe and discover if a year later, Elle is still getting her back blown out by Noah.

As we approach the big day, things will be getting festive as we enjoy one of our favourite Christmas movies; Jingle all the way. This is the perfect movie to get in the mood for rampant consumerism, backstabbing and slapstick violence.

Finally we bring 2020 to a much welcomed close by enjoying New Years Eve; an ensemble cast of A-list celebrity millionaires teach us how to be truly grateful for the things we have.

Thanks again to anyone who’s enjoyed any of our content this year. Things to look forward to in 2021 include more classic episodes with old and new guests, Youtube videos (gameplays of movie-based games) and a new website/reinvigorated social media presence.

Homeward Bound – Crap Movie Club #10

Tim and Jordan did not enjoy being made to watch Homeward Bound – but I maintain that it was Jordan’s idea. This is a movie where Michael J Fox voices a dog, but the mouth doesn’t move when he talks (much to Jordan’s disdain).

If you are wondering what we are laughing about so much in the intro, it is this picture of Andre:

Andre!

May Schedule

To help us entertain ourselves during quarantine, Me Tim and Jordan have been recording episodes over Discord. We now have a small backlog and plan to release weekly throughout May!

A Knight’s Tale (episode #11 is a banger) and we had our friend Tom along for the ride. He is a font of knowledge related to that movie so if you listen to anything make sure you check out that episode on Sunday 17th May!

We talk about Disney Plus – Bonus Episode

Despite the global pandemic causing panic and misery worldwide, there was a glimmer of hope for humanity in March as Disney Plus finally launched in the UK.

To celebrate, we had a chat about some of the niche or lesser-known things we are looking forward to watching. You can listen here, or on any podcast services.

Here is a picture of the nazis from Bedknobs and Broomsticks fighting a magical suit of armour.

Battleship – Crap Movie Club #9

Before the incident, we recorded this episode on Battleship, the 2012 smash hit which launched Rihanna’s acting career into the stratosphere and caused legions of kids to get crazy into the board game of the same name.

Ok so maybe those two things didn’t happen, but it’s still a fun romp and the scene where they fire up the old WW2 ship to the sound of ACDC is a winner.

Sorry for the scuffed audio – seems we still have some gremlins in our setup / haven’t graduated from being complete amateurs. Listen below, or on all reputable podcast services.
